After decades of health and community service, Beaver Dam Community Hospital (BDCH) needed a fresh start. Digitally, that is. Its website was not serving users in an efficient way any longer. The user experience was poor, the site was not optimized for a mobile device, and users were bombarded with more than 20 navigation options on the home page alone. In short, the website didn’t convey the hospital as the forward-thinking, technological-savvy healthcare system that it is.
6AM Marketing redesigned BDCH.com and redefined the user experience. We focused on what is most important to the target users: getting them to the information they needed as easily as possible. Through predictive search, utility buttons, quick links, and a mobile-optimized responsive structure, the new website showcases BDCH’s forward thinking and lifestyle-focused care.
A clear hierarchy of navigational options quickly informs patients how to access their records, call for an appointment or learn about the services BDCH offers its patients. Users easily can search and sort providers, view their biographical information, and request an appointment online. Bold colors and lifestyle-focused imagery add a modern feel and communicate to the community that BDCH will be there for them now and into the future.
The site launched in the early fall of 2017. The site has seen a 22% increase in page views, a dramatic increase in time on site and increased pages per session. With new capabilities, such as a responsive design, we anticipate a substantial investment in digital display that will allow the new site to shine.
