Navigating your site

BACK END

After you have logged in, you will have access to the “back end” of your website. The back end essentially is the “behind the scenes” aspect, where the apps that you will use to edit your site exist.

FRONT END

The “front end” is the interface between the user and the back end. It is what viewers see when they visit your website. The admin bar at the top allows you to (from left to right):

• Go to the appropriate app to add a new page, blog post, event, news story, inventory item, staff profile or product
• Go to the appropriate app to upload an image, file or stock/inventory spreadsheet
• Go to the page you currently are on to edit the page info, such as the meta title/description or keyword
• Go to the back end Dashboard
• Log out of your site
• View system notifications, visit the Hits in a Box documentation site or submit a support ticket

When you are logged into your site, editable content areas (known as content blocks) on the front end will be shaded in blue with a dashed border.

NAVIGATING BETWEEN THE TWO

From the front end, click the Hits in a Box logo in the admin bar to get to the back end.

From the back end, click the house icon in the admin bar, enter the URL in your browser of the page you want to go to, ir click the back button until you get to the front end.

VIEWING/EDITING PAGES

When logged in to your site, you can visit pages by:

• Typing the URL in the browser, just as you would if you were not logged in
• Visiting the Page Manager home page and clicking the "Edit Page" icon
• Visiting the Page Manager, selecting a page and clicking the "EDIT" button
